TC: SPEED MATTERS
Taking things slow and easy is the wrong philosophy to adopt as businesses are trying to reopen. Recovering revenue over a long period of time will not give you the competitive advantages you will need to grow and prosper in the “new normal”.
Your challenge this week is to develop a sense of urgency in every aspects of your business; this is the only way you can position yourself for the long term.
Everything starts by having the right frame of mind, one that favors action. During the last few months, I have heard great ideas on how to improve sales by implementing new technologies which, I believe, are more effective than what has been used in the past. COVID-19 has not gone away, and uncertainty lingers in the minds of many small business owners. The challenge is to dive into this new world; a saying that many of you have heard from me is as follows: “Anything worthwhile doing is worthwhile doing wrong.” In other words, do not wait until you have a guarantee that your efforts will succeed, trusts your intuition, and take the necessary action.
Taking rapid action still includes a need to understand what your customers will value, post COVID-19. Good customers and prospects will also feel the need for a rapid revenue recovery and will be looking to you to help them achieve their goal.
Unfortunately, there does not exist a playbook on how to navigate the COVID-19 and its many aftereffects. The best advice I can share is for you not to focus on what everyone else is saying or doing: the economy will suffer; unemployment will still be high. You have little or no control over these situations, but you can narrow your focus on creating rapid revenue and share a positive message to your customers, prospects, and friends.
